Good Question!
It's much easier for me during nice weather to get outside and go for a walk, but what do you do on those rainy days?

Wet Behind The Ears
Wet Behind The Ears

I got a heart rate monitor. The monitor tells me my 'zone' (among other info)and I stay in the zone during exercise. So, sometimes I have to speed up the intensity of my exercise, other times I have to slow it down. It makes my work out fun and challenging. I got a monitor that I could customize to me. I use an elliptical machine, treadmill, stationary bike (soon outdoor bike), stair climber, and lift weights. I will soon be jumping rope. I have 1hr for lunch (generally) so, I eat lunch in the first hr and then walk during the other . I always take the stairs to my 7th floor office. Mixing it up broke the monotony and placed different stresses on different parts of my body while allowing other parts to rest.

Regarding food, I prepare all the week's meals at home on Sat or Sun. I eat 6 meals per day with each meal having no more than 50g of carbs. Some meals are as simple as an apple with cheese or fruit with humas or a shake.

My A1c numbers have been between 5.5 and 6.6. I do not take meds. My endocrinologist and family dr are reluctant to say I have diabetes - pre-diabetes, I believe.
