Wet Behind The Ears
Wet Behind The Ears

What do you do when you have a sister who is mentally ill and diabetic? My sister is on disability and hasn't worked in about eight years. She has progressing diabetes Type II. She won't take her medicines unless family members call her and beg her to take her medicines. She has severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She's only 53 so she's really too young to go into a nursing home where they'll give her the medicines she needs. She is really stubborn and mean when her blood sugar is really high or really low. She quite often has blood sugar readings in the 400's all the way up to 500 sometimes. Is there any type of housing or care options for people like my stubborn, mentally ill sister? She has straight Medicare. Thank you for any advice you may offer.
