Wet Behind The Ears
Wet Behind The Ears

hi everyone
i'm alyssa, i;m writing this because i need some help?
i have had diabetes for 11 years now and when i make new friends or talk to crushes i never tell them i have diabetes, i always get my best friend to because i'm scared they will think im a freak.
i was always teased in primarry school for having red hair and being a diabetic. i became depressed in year 4 and found it hard to make it through to year 5 but thankfully my mother was there to support me. i started doing more things at my school to make people understand what diabetes is and what its like to have it. i won an award for it in 2006 and got to go to queensland which made me very happy. When i came home and went back to school everything was great people would ask me questions about the trip and about diabetes but eventully that wore off and everything went back to the way it was before. i am in high school now and people still occasionly tease me, i have a job and im having a bit off trouble with my friends at the moment but its okaii i'll get through it. i get scared when im in public and i have to do a bolous and people look at me werid, a few weeks ago i heard a group of people call me a freak. also there is this one girl in most of my classes who takes advantage of my diabetes by asking me to get her out of class sometimes, most of the time i tell her no but sometimes i jsut give in?

is there anyway that you know of the help with any of these situations?

xoxo Ginger
