I am with Nan on this one, Exercise and Healthy eating are the key to successful control of Type II diabetes. With that being said that does not mean that various supplements cannot have a postive effect on Diabetes. But I would do your research and consult with your doctor on any homopathic type supplement. Many of these can be picked up at the local health food store much cheaper then a super cocktail sold on the internet.
My exercise is Long Distance running, I run on Average 40 - 55K per week. Nothing like a 20K run to help keep the blood sugar down.
I had a 1/2 cup of chocolate milk yesterday for the first time in 1.5 years, my BS was 3.2 after 20K despite gatorade and running Jellie bellies which are basically pure sugar.
To give you an idea of exercise, I got up with 4.2BS and had 1 apple and 1 yougurt drink for a total of about 25Grams of carbs or approx 2 carb choices, During my run I consumed about another 1 carb.
Now I have to admit I did not plan right as my blood sugar was 3.2 at the end of the run. This was caused by the fact that my pace was faster then the previous weeks long run. What this means is that I am going to have add another carb before running or another carb about 30 - 45 minutes in.
After I ran my blood sugar through out the day was hi 3's and low 4's. So you can see the effect of running lasted the whole day and into this morning when I woke up with a 3.8 blood sugar.
This proves that exercise is the key to keeping your blood sugar low. I don't recmommend running 12+ miles on a normal basis, but it does show how exercise effects the system very effectively.
