Wet Behind The Ears
Wet Behind The Ears

I am 22 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes last week. My brother, who is now 12, was diagnosed when he was 3 so the concept of diabetes was not foreign but I never thought it would be something that I would have to face. Ironically, I found I was diabetic after applying for health and life insurance and being denied when my glucose was in the mid 400. (I am self employed.) Oh, I weigh 130lbs and have always been health conscious. Like all other type 1 diabetics I have to test multiple times a day and take insulin shots. Over all, I am very blessed to have found out when I did before complications developed. If anyone could share options for cheap testing supplies/discount programs I would greatly appreciate it. I have no insurance.
