After reading about your situation, I realized your circumstances are almost identical to mine. I am also T2 and was diagnosed a couple of months ago. I too was suffering from some severe blurry vision and found myself as worried as you are. I learned that a person experiences blurry vision when their glucose levels are high, but also when the levels decline rapidly. So don't worry, your vision will get better, but it might take a couple of weeks. Just keep eating like you should to keep your glucose down, exercise as you are able, take your medicine, and keep checking your glucose. My vision has returned to normal after doing these things. But keep in mind, you will want to see an opthamologist yearly to make sure all is well with your vision.

Your vision should return to near normal or normal once you get your blood sugars down. I had the same thing happen to me, and I am a type 1.5. In fact, I thought I was going to need new glasses and went to the ophthalmologist a day after I saw the doctor. I didn't have my diagnosis yet from the doctor, but the eye doc said: "You either have cataracts or diabetes." I told him I'd prefer cataracts, but it turned out he was right on with the diabetes diagnosis, unfortunately! I had all the classic symptoms, so I was pretty sure that was what it was going to turn out to be.

It looks like you are on the right track and are motivated to take charge of this disease. Do as Dave has suggested, eat right, exercise, check often, and take your medications! Good luck.

Suzanna
