Looks like I am the last of posters around here. Too bad Diabetic Community made the mistake of tinkering with a great diabetes message board, literally killing it. It would be great to have more recent posts in order to help others, but under the circumstances I invite all who venture to this message board to read the older posts by many knowledgeable Type 2 long time members. Long time members posted thousands of posts, however after the message board was tinkered with the count started over. That is the reason you see so few post listed for each poster. There is a wealth of information for all to benefit from whether a person is on medication or controlling via diet/exercise only. People come and go, get bored, move to other message boards, etc. I know a few people that didn't come to this board when it changed because they didn't want to have to sign in. That is, they didn't want to put personal information online in order to be a member and able to post. There are a lot of diabetes message boards available online. I just accidentally discovered one this week that is very active. Another very active board is at Tudiabetes. But it is so big it doesn't seem personal ... like this always was. I'm still here, but seldom stop by. Once in a while I remember to check here to see if any of the old timers are posting. Marie, I'm glad to know that Nan is still around. I have often wondered about her. I belonged to a board at MSN and when they closed down all message boards, I started my own board at Yuku. We were very active with many members, and lots of useful information shared ..... but our board is slowly dying, too, with only a few faithful posting. Good to see you Marie, Drbain and Ian! I'm still around. Since Jan 6, of this year I got serious about losing weight and getting back in shape. I was in serious danger of not being allowed to be a Volunteer Driver for the West Virgina VA Medical Center in Martinsburg. I'm eating better, lost around 30 lbs, clothes have gotten too big. I exercise 4 times per week avg at our local Gold's Gym. Great to have the senior rate for membership. Blood Glocose in the very normal range. When I go in for my VA physical- I should pass and be allowed to drive for another. Physical will be in early Feb. This WAS a superb and popular site. I guess that the fault lies firmly at the feet of the culpable management personnel. I call in now and then, but seldom log in....as there is no apparent reason to do so. This site could be as popular as before the "progressive modifications", but I fear that the necessary rethink, by management, will not be happening in my lifetime.
