Wet Behind The Ears
Wet Behind The Ears

7 yrs ago when I was 1st diagnosed I found this site to be very helpful. I've not been here for yrs & it has really changed!

I started on insulin this week & need to rededicate myself to getting serious. I used to enter my blood sugars on a website that could graph my readings. Can someone recommend such a site these days? Nothing technical like cabling up my glucometer as I use a work computer.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Lantus has a log book for charting blood sugars but I'm not sure what it looks like, as it needs to be downloaded to your computer. Here is the link:
http://www.lantus.com/tools_resources/bl...

There are others out there. I thought I had one saved in my favorites but can't find it. I'll keep looking for you.

Welcome back. Sorry about the need to use insulin but I am sure you will be very happy with the results. Best to you!

Hi Suzanna,

Thanks for the link & following Lee's lead. I was going to email you this morning, but I ran into your reply here first. Lantus is the insulin I am taking & I'm using the SolarStar pen. I reckon you are, too, since you had this site at the ready. The log they have is OK, but I used to use a website where you would enter your readings & then you could graph them out, along with blood pressure, weight, or physical activity. It was really cool walking into your dr's office & handing him a graph of your readings since the last visit. I guess if I found the site once I can find it again someday.

Isn't this site quite a change from 5-7 yrs ago? Its going to take me awhile to navigate around.

Thanks again,
David

Hi David! Lee sent me your letter so when I saw your post here, I just knew it was you! LOL I don't use any log books on the Internet. I have an Ultrasmart One Touch meter and software to download my test results. They have an excellent program, with graphs and charts and all. It does make a good impression on the doc when you can take your print out with you to your appointment! I do remember seeing a site like you describe, but just haven't been able to find it! I hope you're able to.

I am on Lantus and Novolog now, but I do shots rather than pen. My diagnosis got changed about 6 years ago from a type 2 to a type 1.5 (which is really a type 1 diagnosed late in life). I've been on insulin ever since and do quite well with it.

Yes, this site has really changed. And very few of the group are still here that use to post on the old board. You'll recognize a few names, though, I bet.

Suzanna

Here's another website to check out for logging blood sugars. It looks like you can print out graphs, too.

Hi Suzanna,

Thanks for the legwork! I think this one will do what I want for the most part. I need to enter some readings for a week or so to really see what it will do. I'll give you an update after I've played for awhile. I really do appreciate this.

I'll check out the message board you shared when I have some time. I only have computer access at the office, but come in early or stay late to play.

Later,
David
