My husband also has been diagnosed with type 2 on top of a myriad of other things. I told him out right that it was his responsibility to take care of himself, but I feel I need to do what I can to make thongs easier and also to help my children eat healthier as they will be prone to this as well...... difficult as his eating habits and what he will tolerate is limited. Also -- cooking dinner is his contribution to family chores. My new strategy is to make ahead meals while I have the time for when I will not. still there is the problem of fresh fruits and vegies which he avoids like the plague.....

It's great that you're working together with your husband to manage diabetes, and also to teach your children healthy habits. If you haven't yet attended diabetes education classes, they can be a wonderful source of information and suggestions. Most hospitals offer classes, and usually spouses are encouraged to attend as well as the person with diabetes. ~Lynn @Glucerna
