Wet Behind The Ears
Wet Behind The Ears

My name is Bridget. Although I don't have diabetes, my husband does and I have weight issues.

I have been successful twice in my life losing weight. The first time was with Weight Watchers when they had the exchange program. I lost 100 lbs. and kept it off for many years.

The second time was eight years ago when I had the lap-band and had basically surgical bulimia. I ended up in the hospital for eight days after emergency removal. I had a second weight loss surgery called the gastric sleeve, but when I consume 600-700 calories of Coca-cola a day, I'm not losing.

I have given up Cokes cold turkey and am now moving toward a healthier me. I'm here to find like-minded folks and some smokin' hot recipes! Because I DO love to cook!

Thanks!

Hi Bridget! I give you a lot of credit for not giving up on improving your health and losing weight. I find that people who enjoy cooking have an easier time adapting recipes to use healthier ingredients and finding ways to make food taste good while using less fat and sugar. Giving up Coke is excellent! What are you drinking instead of Coke? One of my favorites is unflavored mineral water with a slice of fresh lime or lemon. ~Lynn @Glucerna
