Has anyone on the forum joined the SANGAMO phase 2B trials for a gene expression therapy to slow / cure Diabetic Neuropathy.
It involves injection into the lower leg of a DNA plasmid which increses the expression of a protein know as VEGFa
It has been found to have neuroregenerative properties in phase 1 & phase 2a trials and sounds very promising.
The patient cohort for phase 2B is patients who are categorised as having moderatly severe DN
and 170 patients have now completed registration at centres across the US.
TriaL is double blind 50% treatment, 50% PLACEBO
Anyone in the trial care to comment on how its going??
