Has anyone tried the new
sugar free Jello pudding mixes? The two I saw are cheese cake and lemon. I'm thinking of how to fix them, just as pudding or as some fancier desserts?

Karen,

I haven't seen them, but will look tomorrow.

I think the cheesecake one would be great in a "parfait"....with Cool Whip Lite (or Free), granola, and maybe blueberries and strawberries...any fruit would do.

I might just try that soon.

Thanks for letting us know of the new ones..surprised I haven't seen any advertisements for them.

I make them sometime with banana cream pudding, and also putting slices of bananas in with the other fruit. Could use cherries, but they don't get used here so I don't buy them any more.

I don't actually buy granola, either, but use a crunchy cereal, such as Kashi Go Lean Crunch, I think the name of it is.

Even hubby enjoys them, and the serving size can vary from person to person, even putting ingredients on the table and let everyone make their own. Easy and delicious no-guilt dessert!!

I like to crumble up granola bars in my yogurt to give it a crunch! Yum. I love anything with crunch.

That sounds like a great idea, too, but I never get granola bars. They just seem so "dry" to me...lol.

Nope, but I'd be willing to bet that they would be great in a pie shell (made with almond flour) as a "creme" pie. Either one would be tasty.

I have a great recipe for a low fat, rich tasting, decadent dessert. I take the new Hershey's "Special Dark" unsweetened cocoa powder and put it into a container of fat free Cool Whip. Mix and let it sit in the fridge for an hour and you have chocolate mousee to die for! I mix about two or three tablespoons into the cool whip. It takes a bit of time for the chocolate to distribute through the cool whip but the results are amazing. Doesn't taste fat free at all.

A deviation of this is to also add expresso powder to the cool whip. With the chocolate, it is instant mocha flavoring.

white chocolate is also a new flavor. I use them to make smoothies . I use the white choc. plus 2 1/2 cups skim milk mix that together then add frozen strawberries . I mix this in my blender . the frozen strawberries make it thick and slushy.

I'll have to remember to look these up if my stores carry the new flavors.Oh yummy, all these ideas sound so delicious. When I was diagnosed in Mar.1999,I used those sugar free puddings and jello(especially---no carbs)so often as I dared not go over my specific limitations. When I started to dare eat regular deserts, but careful portions,I seemed to drop these two.Guess I'd better get back to them for treats as I am still on food plan and exercise which seems difficult to keep up with in this busy world.
